Julie Brill,
Come and work at my hospital! It's fabulous. We don't have a ward nursery
at all, so not entirely convinced night staff can't take all babies to the
nursery anyway. For mums who are unwell or have a baby who just won't
settle (after mega feeding and co-sleeping) we take the baby to the nurses
station and invariably it gets cuddled all night by one of us (great job -
getting paid to cuddle babies!).
It's the first day of Spring down here and the weather is magnificent. I'll
give you a free tour of the Gold Coast and Surfers Paradise and you don't
even have to win a competition! Oh, and we need another midwife or two in
our unit too - how about it Julie?

Denise Fisher
Brisbane, Australia (beautiful one day, perfect the next and no apologies
for the skiting!)

P.S. Anyone who's a midwife and LC who'd like to share work/life/whatever
experiences with me please e-mail me directly. Denise
