Thank you for all the responses.  I wish I could report the baby was at
breast but she just isn't there yet.  The parents are still very comfortable
finger feeding even if it takes over 1!/2 hours ( this concerns me but baby
and parents are happy, healthy and rested)

Tomorrow we are going to try using a syringe to try to stimulate this baby at
the breast.  I am also considering using a nipple shield but not without
approval from my fellow Lactnetters as I hope the cure isn't worse then the
disease.  Has anyone had good luck with the use of nipple shields and then
had babies wean off them without too much difficulty.
