Perhaps for those of you who want advanced practice hours, you could do a
work/study program with a nearby IBCLC.

I have had a very successful work/study program for quite some time. I have
had as many as 5 "interns" working during the same period of time. Each
intern stays with me for about 1-2 years, depending on how much exposure they
want to the difficult cases. They come in one day a week for the whole day.

No money is exchanged, they just work while they are here doing all the
"practice" stuff, like cleaning equipment, writing physician's reports,
billing, etc. This way they learn the whole business.

I am not afraid they will compete with me because there is more than enough
work to go around.

It is a mutually beneficial and satisfying arrangement.

Hope you can find something like this in your area.

Alison
