On Nov 21 someone made a comment that Ruth Lawrence said no MDs should be
IBCLC. As an MD who is an IBCLC (MD first) I would like to knwo more about
this statement. The reason I took the IBCLC exam was to be able to use it
with the MD and have people ask questions so I could tell them the amount of
training IBCLCs go through even without the MD> As an MD I probably have less
contact hours with pure breastfeeding than others who sat for the exam.
However, I continue to be actively involved with breastfeeding on a daily
basis. Learing is a life long process.
