Got a call today froma nurse. Patient had lost 24oo cc blood during c sec.
Grav 6.
Mother refused transfusions...and is now on day 9. Has no milk. Is feeding
baby at breast, using finger feeding and pumping and some SNS.
Will the milk supply come in eventually, or is this mom with Sheehan's
syndrome not going to be able to breastfeed?
Also, will someone please describe to me what happens in this case of
extreme blooid loss? Does this impact the pituitary, and what other hormonal
difficulties would THIS produce?
