Insisting on giving juice to a 3 month old is ABSURD. Fruit juice is sugar
water. When babies need vitamin from fruits they SHOULD EAT THE FRUIT -
generally introduced from 4-6 months. An occasional glass of juice (yes I tel
mothers to only give juice in a cup. A 6 month old can due some reasonable
cup feeding (yes I know newborns can to if needed) and why get they use to
sugar wate in a bottle. I tell patients NO MORE than 4 ounces per day if they
use it. The main advantage I see to juice is that is readily available so
if you are some ones house and for some reason can't breastfeed (Going in a
car perhaps?) Most people have some apple juice handy for a cranky child.
Sorry to vent. (Sometimes I wish Academies like the AAP could go after
doctors who give advice like that _ Are you listening Dr. Gartner)
