I was quite surprised to hear Peter Hartmann characterized as saying there
is no such thing as fore and hind milk. When I met with him and discussed
things lactational (October 1993), no such words emerged from his mouth.
He and I both agreed that the milk varies in proportions of cream content,
something that many peopel do not understand. Instead, people think of
foremilk as skim- and hindmilk as butter-milk when it is more like varying
degrees of color as seen in chocolate: some is very pale, other is quite
dark. Most are in the middle somewhere.
This can be a difficult concept to get across. Could the person who heard
Pater Hartmann please post EXACTLY what he said? Many thanks.
