Unfortunately, by the time I learned that it might be a good idea to come up
with a cute name for nursing, my quite verbal son had decided to call it
"nurse??" When he would get done, he would say "Other side please". It was
really cute (he was about 15 months when he started this), but I lived in
fear of this when we were in public.

Once, when he was about 18 mo old, my in-laws were visiting. I had been at
work, and walked into the house with everyone already here. Andrew began
pushing the ottoman to my favorite chair, got me some magazines, then crawled
up on my lap to nurse. Up until the nursing, my in-laws thought it was just
the cutest thing for him to be so caring for his mom. (They thought it was
awful that I was nursing him so long...)

Finally, when Andrew was about 3, we were in the brand new Walmart. He was
sitting in the child seat of a cart and was grabbing at my blouse (in
general, he was just being ornery). Finally, I told him to cut it out. In
his LOUD, CLEAR voice, he shouted, "But Mom, I just wanted to touch your
nipples!) Talk about a beet red face!
