Dear Jay and Vicarious Lurker Karen:

I have run into several similar situations over the years, and feel that
the plugged duct is directly related to the pressure of the underwire
and/or tight garments that silly moms try to pour themselves into too soon.
I generally recommend *no* underwires until way into the weaning period.
Why tempt fate?

As far as the excercise goes, as long as a lactating woman wears a soft and
gently hugging sports bra with no underwire (stress the word gently) to
keep the heavy, milk-laden breasts from too much jerking up and down during
exercise, there usually is no problem with getting back to a routine.

Hope this helps....

Roberta

Oh, and by the way Karen, the slides of Maternal Expressions turned out
lovely! I'll have some prints made and get them up to you!
