I frequently use the analogy of learning to dance.

"Breastfeeding is like learning to dance.  You can read books and watch
videos and see other couples dancing, but when you and your new partner first
start to dance, you'll have to practice before you're confident and
comfortable.  Nobody expects to dance well without practice, and new moms
shouldn't expect to breastfeed skillfully without practice."
