Your suggestions are welcome for this mom. One of my most comminted mothers
to breastfeeding relayed her following delima. Her second baby is now 3
months old and things have been going well since back to work about a month.
Mom works in the local department of Human Services (Welfare and Title XIX)
Office. She feels that supervisors at work have been accomadating to her
because they let her take 30 minutes instead of 15 to leave work, go to day
care nurse the baby and then return. She can also pump at work in her
office, and continue to compute, type, phone with one hand. But they have
nixed the idea of the sitter bringing the baby in to nurse at work.
Her problem is that she use to be able to pump enough milk at work to keep up
the demand for his intake at day care but now he is wanting more than she is
getting. She continues to nurse frequently when at home at night, tried a
double pump recently and noted a increase in amount pumped, but says she
can't us a double pump at work because that would tie up both her hands. As
she loses some of her available time in travel during the day I suggested
that she might try staying at work and using the double pump rather than
wasting her time traveling when she is not pumping or nursing. Her first
baby seemed to have a cows milk intolerance and did better on soy so that is
what she has tried as a complement now but he won't take it from the bottle,
he will take the BM well from the bottle. Your suggestions are welcome.
