Duramorph is being used at our hospital, and the lc there says it's even
used in some vaginal births (I'll have to confirm that and get back to
you). There have been no studies to my knowledge, but this same lc
describes babies with lethargy and disorganized swallow as "duramorph
babies". This is strictly anecdotal, but I have been scouting around the
hospital for someone willing to take on a good controlled study including
this and all epidural medications as they relate to feeding. Perhaps with
all our hospitals we can arrange for some kind of multi-center study.
Anyone with any ideas for funding? Alicia. [log in to unmask]
