This is in response to your post on the use of steroids in breastfeeding
mothers. Prednisone is the usual steroid used by physicians. The American
Academy of Pediatrics described this medication as "usually compatible with
breastfeeding". They noted that no adverse effects had been observed in
the infants of mothers using this medication. The citation is Committee on
