I had a patient this summer who worked as a highway flagger (stands out in
the middle of the highway, holding a sign that says "Slow" or "Stop" and
motioning cars to slow down). She had decided to continue breastfeeding
and was planning to pump in her car at breaks.

With the new cardboard or nylon windshield covers that are so popular here,
I believe that at temperate times of the year pumping in the car might be
some employees' best option (if the only other option was pumping on the
toilet). I always offer to go in and talk with their employer about making
a room, etc., available. I finally had someone agree that it would be a
good idea for me to talk to their boss, but she asked me not to let the
boss know who was breastfeeding so she wouldn't be identified as a
troublemaker.
