Back on my favorite bandwagon. Whatever we are discussing, we should
include "Breastfed or not?" in the equation. Proper breastfeeding, of
course, not token. I am sure more differences would show up if we asked
more often. (Eg osteoporosis - there is good reason to suggest being
beastfed may protect. No, I am not necessarily suggesting a whole new
meaning to Nursing homes, but there is reason to think that being breastfed
as an infant may set the body to optimal calcium uptake.)

Somewhere I read (my filing system is in a mess) that the hormones in a
mother rat's milk send a signal to her offspring's reproductive system to go
into quiessence for a specifed time. Rats not fed their mother's milk are
sexually mature earlier.

Do breastfed humans get the same message and is it part of the equation
along with nutrition etc. that determines onset of menstuation. In an
not-statistically-significant study of one, I was breastfed and menstuated
at 14 or 15.
