I must say I am enjoying your postings on LACTNET it is wonderful to have
your expertise and for you to share it with us.

I have been meaning to get back to you to let you know what happened with
the conference in Ottawa.  We did have to change the dates and unfortunately
I could not, as hard as I tried, influence other committee members to extend
an invitation to invite you to speak.  The two main reasons were the cost
from Texas (we are operating on a shoestring budget), but the other reason
all of the other committee members except for myself and one other are not
LC's and had not heard of you, they expressed concerned that this might be a
problem for attracting potential participants.

If you are interested in sending up some copies of your new book for us to
sell for you, it would be one way of getting yourself better known up here.
I will certainly persist with recommending you as a speaker in the future,
as I know you have a great deal to offer health care professionals. Just
bear with us we are a little in the back woods about some things, but some
of us are working very hard to change practices and enlighten people.
