I agree with your frustrations. I've had similar discussions w/ people in
all areas of health care. As an LC, you probably have the best opportunity
to address the issue. Question is how far into bed does one have to crawl
in order to accurately research and clarify what seems obvious? I've
observed otherwise rational and caring individuals compromising themselves
in the name of research.
