Dear Dr. Battler:
It has come to my attention that one of your colleagues, Judy Knopf, may
lose access to her LACTNET email files. This will be most unfortunate, for
this user group is one of the few available that is "peopled" by lactation
researchers around the world.
These individuals not only have learned much from the wisdom Judy Knopf has
shared, but also is in a position to assist her (as we already have) in
continuing the research endeavors she is seeking to complete.
We would greatly miss her skills and knowledge and would feel quite badly
if she must leave LACTNET for reasons that remain unclear to us.
I would like to personally ask if you might intercede on her behalf, and
thereby assure that the research she is conducting can be conducted: for
the increased reputation of your institution and for the contribution such
research will have to lactation science.
Sincerely,
Kathleen G. Auerbach, PhD, IBCLC
Editor-in-Chief, Journal of Human Lactation
This is the letter I sent to Professor Battler on Judy Knopf's behalf. I
believe it would be particuliarly helpful if any of the rest of you reply
that you highlight your own professional (particularly research-related)
backgrounds, skills, knowledge, interest in, etc. (in other words, scratch
him where he itches!)
Def. of LC service: "We are all faced with a series of great opportunities
brilliantly disguised as impossible situations."
