Elisa,

I do not have off hand info on early solids and incidence of allergies in
babies. However, the articles I would quote to MD's concerning reflux
therapy is those done by Susan Orenstein, published in Journal of
Pediatrics around 1987 or 1988. She has done several of the classic work
demonstrating that cereal does not diminishes GER but simply makes spit
ups more "decent" and makes care providers a little happier. Also check
with your medical school library for the latest GI book "Pediatric
Gastrointestinal Disease" by Wyllie and Hyams, Saunders. They have a
great chapter on GER and the management part is very clear!

If you need more specific, Email me privately. Will be glad to help.

Maryelle
