Diane Wiessinger shared a wonderful memory with all of us --

I just had to add that when I faced the toughest day of my life, the day
Peter was born, they told us he had Down syndrome, that he needed surgery
and had a 50% chance of survival, and then later that day I came about 30
seconds away from hemorrhaging to death from retained placenta (hey, I
*said* it was a bad day) -- I called my mother, halfway across the country
and said "I need you."  And she got on a plane and came to my side and held
me.  I didn't nurse, of course, but I did lay in my mother's lap with her
arms around me and my head on her chest and cried and cried and cried.  And
she rocked me and held me and comforted me.  And now I'm crying again.  We
*never* outgrow our need for our moms.
