Ofloxacin(Floxin) is a fluoroquinolone antibiotic similar to
Ciprofloxacin(Cipro). As with all the fluoroquinolones, they are generally
contraindicated in pediatric patients due to arthropathy and in one case of
a breastfeeding mom, a serious case of c. difficile overgrowth in an
infant(pseudomembranous colitis), and bloody diarrhea.

I would be real cautious with this family. Closely observe the infant for
diarrhea, especially bloody. Attempt to feed around the dose by waiting as
long as possible after dosing to breastfeed the infant. Just be cautious
with this family.
