Janet,

Here in Australia it is also said generally to mothers that the mini-pill
will not affect breastmilk supply, and in the majority of cases it does not
seem to. However, I believe there have been anecdotal cases heard about by
NMAA where it seems to affect supply, or seems to cause the baby to be
unsettled. Some mothers find they are able to boost their supply again with
more frequent feeding, while others have trouble getting the supply to
respond enough. Perhaps what is happening with these mothers is the
variation in an individual's response to hormones. This was mentioned
during the discussions about how quickly menstruation returned after
childbirth, even with exclusive breastfeeding. Perhaps these mums are more
hormone-sensitive.
