I'm excited to report the baby who has been finger feeding for two weeks has
finally latched on this morning. We broke down and decided to use a nipple
shield which the baby opened wide and latched on and nursed like a pro. She
gulped milk so loudly it made us laugh. This mom was been faithfuuly pumping
and has had a great milk supply.
We discussed the pros and cons of using this intervention but her nipples are
so large and flat that the baby just couldn't latch on directly. I hope
this baby will quickly grow into her moms nipples so that the shield won't
become a problem . At least this baaby is on the breast.
Thanks for the support.
