Happy Fourth of July all of you US Lactnetters!

It is interesting that there has been quite a bit of discussion regarding
yeast. I feel that we are seeing more and more of it and more and more
persistent cases of it. Are others seeing an increase in incidence and
severity of yeast?

Someone has suggested that using warm, damp tea bags on nipples is a risk
factor in that there is yeast in the tea. Is there anything to this? Many
nursing staff members at our area hospitals recommend the tea bags to nursing
mothers.

After seeing so many references to yeast in one way or another in these
discussions, I have decided that maybe the "yeast-belt" extends beyond the
southern US!
