Janet our trainee,
 >any stories of other women going through a similar situation? Mom not able
to produce enough milk so supplements with SNS to continue a close, nurturing
relationship with baby.<
I have lots of stories but the mom's don't last more than a week or two. They
give up really easy if they don't see results quickly.
You say she never got engorged but did she have any fullness?
Try this before you try drugs. Get her on brewers yeast tablets. Divide the
daily dose (usually 10+12 per day) in 3 and take with meals. Then give her
the sales pitch--Ask her if she "ever heard that beer increases milk supply.
The bavarians believe this whoeheartedly but its the yeast that helps with
the milk supply. It provides some extra nutrients and replaces the B vitamins
that stress uses up. And you have been stressed with the baby lately. These
will really help."
The more believeable the sales pitch the better but don't make any promises
(In case it doesn't work).
