Jan Aken asked if a mother's immunity to Chicken Pox could protect a
breastfed child. I too am interested in the answer. My 2 year old has been
quite definitely exposed to Chicken Pox several times in the last 6 months
but has never had an active case. I have been mulling over the idea that it
may be my immunity protecting her, and that she may get Chicken Pox after
she weans. Or, perhaps, she actually has had the Chicken Pox, but her case
was so mild (thanks to breastfeeding) that we didn't notice it.
