I'm working with a mom who had a c/section on 8-21 (7 days ago) She
called on day 5, had purchased a pump because she had "no milk".
Assessing her, her supply certainly was not in, for typical hospital
procedural delay reasons. However, now she was home and concerned.
The baby was being limited at the breast.
Birth weight 9'13 down to 9'2 (7% loss) on discharge, monday.
Baby nursing correctly, unlimited access to the breast, using a p syringe
to supplememt at the breast. For two days she has pumped following
nursing, she admits "not every time, but is able to get 6 in yesterday
and will reach that today. Baby is stooling and urinating now and not
fussy, BUT, moms milk is still not in. I know there can be a delay, but
am I missing anything?
She progressed to 8cm then there was fetal distress so she had a c section.
There was not an excess blood loss, she is feeling well now.
She is a well nourished woman.
First baby.
Thanks in advance.

(There were breast changes during pregnancy and she nursed after 6 hours
of birth, thought she was doing fine.)
