Judy-Actually, in this case, I think the intervention prior to the vacuum
extraction was minimal. No pit or epidural. Just good labor and rapid
progress, but tight fit. AND, having worked in Women's Health Care for many
years now, I don't automatically condemn any and all interventions just
because they are interventions. We must keep a perspective on them SOME
times, and consider that there were times when the alternative was worse. I
do certainly agree that one intervention often leads to another, and
another...but each situation is different. I think in this case, it is more
likely that the trauma to the baby did occur at time of delivery. Come out of
the corner, Judy!
