Vacumn extraction and poor latch-on and feeding. I have seen this on several
occassions. Since I have only seen them out of hospital this is what I
usually see. Baby has hemotoma on crown. Feeds poorly, often sleepy or
extremely fussy.

What has worked in my experience is to keep them going with finger feeding
and pumping. After about 2 weeks (give or take a few days) the hemotoma has
gone down and everything just clicks into place.

Any studies out there showing that vacumn extraction can cause delayed
responsiveness?
