Hi, Everyone!

In response to Jan B. re: pit induction and edema.  I have seen thick "meaty"
nipples and a lot of systemic edema but never assoc it with the pitocin but
rather the fluid overload assoc with the epidural anesthesia so many receive.
 Pit is carefully titrated and generally given with relatively small amts of
IV fluid.  Epidurals, however, require usually 7-8 liters of fluid.  I never
saw edema in the ankles on young, healthy women prior to the popularity of
epidurals- now it is routine.
