Judy,
I was not saying that pregnancy/postpartum puts women at risk for thyroid
conditions, just that this is a common time for such conditions to present.
Possibly the extra metabolic stress of pregnancy makes a subclinical condition
apparent.  I know this is a fine distinction, but it is a distinction.  If I
come across more of a link, I will certainly let you know.  Perhaps one of our
physician members can comment on more recent research?
