Dear Alicia, in our area, up until recently, home visits were done on the
whole by IBCLCs. But there are many areas in Vermont where home visits, when
done, are done by untrained (lactation wise) home care nurses.  I for one
NEVER learned a blessed thing about lactation in nursing school...and it is
wonderful when nurses who work in this field learn more about bf.  On the
other hand, I hate to see the non-nurse IBCLC get phased out by Nurse Lcs.
