Hello all.

To Yaffa: I like the idea of NOT calling it demand feeding. In our culture,
unfortunately, children are thought of as a burden. Demand feeding makes
babies sound like little monsters, so I like the "request" feeding. I myself
have used cue-feeding. I also like the idea of asking parents how long they
go without putting something in their mouths. An eye opener for most of us,
who need to put LESS in our mouths (speaking for myself....) : )

Also, just a thought I had today when driving in the car, listening to the
radio. There were several news programs on re: the passing of the 50th
anniversary of the end of WWII. As I thought of this day, when so many were
so relieved, I could not help but think of the many mothers and children and
babies and families who suffered unspeakable horrors and sadness during this
time. Of course this is not the only time in history when people suffered
greatly in large numbers, but I certainly thought of the many mothers and
babies who did not have the privilege of living and growing together. My
own mother was alive in London at the time of this war, and met my father
and came to America as a war bride. I have heard many stories of this
time. As my 3 yr old prattled in the back seat of my car today, and ate
the blueberries out of my muffin, I thanked the powers that be for the
tremendous personal gift I have been given...the chance to mother and nurse
my children and to launch them into this all too imperfect world. I know
that they will make it better by their presence..
