I would like to find out what advice is given in USA, or any other
countries, to pregnant mothers with truly inverted nipples. Here in
Australia, until recently, mothers were advised to use breast shells to
help draw out their nipples, and to do "Hoffman's exercises" to stretch the
nipple tissue. However, following a British study into the effectiveness of
these methods (which found they were not effective!) this advice is not so
enthusiastically given any more.

Has anyone had any experience with the "Niplette", a device worn virtually
continuously that uses suction to draw out an inverted nipple? Is it
available in USA? It is being marketed in Australia by Cannon Avent. There
would obviously be problems with using it in late pregnancy and after the
birth, as colostum or milk would be expressed into the device. I would be
interested to hear from anyone who has had any experience with it in early
pregnancy, or before, especially in women who have had previous trouble
breastfeeding because of inverted nipples.
