Lisa,
There was a recent letter in Peds Infectious disease about Diflucan
in breastmilk...discouraging it. I am not sure their evidence warrants
their conclusion. It was in Feb, March or April of 1995. The 150mg dose of
Diflucan is the dose that is indicated for vaginal candidiasis. The dose
and duration of use for nipple thrush may not be the same, which is why she
may not be totally better. One thing I recommend besides all the usual
stuff about treating momand baby, cleaning babies stuff, etc... is for mom
to avoid sugar, even too much fruit. Anne Eglash MD
