In response to the message from Hollen, I rarely resort to the PDR except
for basic information about a drug. I find it wholly inadequate for most
other information, particularly as it relates to recommendations re:
breastfeeding during such therapy.

I find Briggs (most recent edition and their updates) to be a first choice,
followed by some other selected resources for much more up-to-date
information.

Having a good clinical pharmacist to call to bounce off problems, ideas
also helps. I recommend that everyone identify someone local to them who
can serve in this capacity.

'Twas a good day. With the help of a client, I have finally identified a
good dermatologist in my area to whom I can refer people with intractable
problems that need a good look-see and treatment beyond my ken. First
client to go to this person was very pleased with a) the degree to which he
listened to her, b) did not suggest immediately weaning.

Interestingly, she said that she felt that what helped most was not the
creams and lotions he prescribed, but rather the breast shells I asked her
to wear in order to keep her breasts dry between feedings while she was at
work. Hmm.

On to a widening net of professionals with whom we can share information,
specialized knowedge toward the ultimate end of quality care for clients...

:-)
