Hi all you lactnetters,
I need some input and hope you can help. I presented a proposal at
the hospital where I work to set up a pump rental station and to stock some
basic supplies for resale (sns's, shells, maybe pumps, lansinoh). I
currently work that job about 12-14 hours a week seeing outpatients and
doing follow up calls. The hospital does not charge for my services and I
am paid as a consultant (no contract). I thought that this little income,
plus making my service available for a fee to women who deliver elsewhere
would offset the cost to the hospital for my time there. I currently see
only women whi have had their babies at this hospital. The administration
veto'ed the idea saying that the hospital is non profit and is unable to
develop a system to bill outpatients for this service. Does anyone at a
hospital out there in Lactnetland (new vocab) have a procedure for billing
that they could share with me?
Thanks-
