Kathleen, I guess, too, that I need more information on what you consider
appropriate for the net. (Yes, I have your written instructions). There
seem to be many discrepancies. I was dismayed that one person was more or
less blasted for asking a question about a product one time, and was glad
to se that I was not the only one who thought her question, as well as a
reasonable response, was appropriate. (She wasn't selling; she was just
asking a question, and to me, that's what the net is for.) We also have
many people talking about things like LactNet Tee-shirts, and I don't see
how that is any less appropriate that talking about the possibility of a
Newsgroup. Seems to me that anything that affects us all, or things we
need help with to make decisions re: what we do (clinical, professional
development, etc.) are appropriate for the net.
As I'm not always sure what is considered appropriate, my way to deal
with this most of the time is to 'lurk' and then others complain that
some of us lurk!
