Hi, all! I am so UNBELIEVABLY far behind (about a week, I think)
that I will have to forego some postings that I wanted to insert
my 1 1/2 cents, and learn some kind of shorthand. I sure hope
that my own mailbox & email will help, (did everyone notice?)
altho when I tried to open up this pm after work, I couldn't get
in. (???)
OK. Joan wrote me something about a mom in possible pp chocolate
withdrawal (??? again) after chomping down chocolate bars during
pregnancy, and Catherine Genna wrote something about
theophylline, and some train started down a strange track in my
short-circuiting mind. I started looking stuff up (I don't have
a lot of resources), and got REALLY confused. Is theophylline
compatible with bfing? What I seem to get from my skimming
resources is that theophylline, caffeine, tea and chocolate all
come from the same source chemically - derived from the seed of
the theobroma cacao. If bfing moms should limit caffeine and
beware of the drug theophylline, then shouldn't chocolate be
there on the no-no list? And what DOES it do, anyhow? If, as
Catherine said, theophylline may inhibit infant growth, then
wouldn't its chemical cousin chocolate do the same thing? I'm in
way over my head, and would like to hear from the Wise Ones (yoo-
hoo, Martha!). Thanks, Judy Knopf (nice to have Judy Dunlop with
us! but could people address us as JK and JD? "Other" Judy, what
say you?)
