At the risk of being pelted with overripe vegies (or in this group maybe a
variety of insects), I really felt like coming to the defense of that poor woman
who invented B____. This was not invented by a company that markets abm or
other horrible products, but as KGA stated, by a woman who leaked copiously
while breastfeeding. I talked to her at last year's ILCA, and while I had major
concerns about plugged ducts, etc. (like the rest of you), I try to keep an open
mind about products that might help mothers breastfeed longer. I think we all
deal with mothers with a wide range of committment to breastfeeding--if there
are gadgets and gizmos that are not harmful that would help some mothers, I'd
like to know about them!

At any rate, I took a sample of the product, and in the last year it has been
used *once*. The mother I offered it to was planning to wean when she went back
to work because she leaked severely. I figured better to chance *possible*
plugged ducts than to wean the baby. She used the product for several weeks,
reported no problems, and her leaking decreased enough that she was able to stop
using it. That is my one experience with the product. Does anyone else have
any? If it is shown to be harmful that's one thing, but to condemn it because
we don't like the idea seems another. So what have your experiences been?
