I tried this private email to the post on getting Medicaid HMOs to cover
breastfeeding pump rentals. I our low income clinic we increased
breastfeeding rates from 36% to 51% (the state average) in 6 months when we
hired a nutritionist who was also a breastfeeding advocate, now an IBCLC.
Sayin that low income mothers will not breastfeed and thus not paying for the
support they need is a self fufilling promise. Good luck in your efforts.
