It's about time!
I met with a contingent of beekeeping officials from Russia when I was
presenting in Azerbaijan in January.  They made clear that tropilaelaps was
well established, and a real problem for beekeepers there.
The Azerbaijanians know that it's only time.  We can expect tropi to expand
its range into Europe as a whole.
Canada is already moving to cease imports of queens from Ukraine.
Historically, some Ukrainian beekeepers in the U.S. have
surreptitiously brought over queens from their home country.  We need to
spread the word that this practice must cease!
