This EPA letter specifically prohibiting oxalic extended release is perfectly in line with the USEPA history on off label uses. I would have been amazed if they said anything else. The applicable statement has always been if it is not on the label it is against the law. In this case dribbling in glycerin, extended pads and fogging in ethanol are all illegal. If you do any of these things my suggestion is do not admit it to anyone, not even your wife, as EPA does have enforcement teeth that are potentially very sharp.
