I understand that researchers need to publish or perish. The sacred 0.05
"statistical significance" goal may get you published if the title of the
paper is eye catching enough. But as far as relevance to us beekeepers,
the headline may mean little.
I'm not being critical of researchers. The problem is that we don't have a
Journal of Negative Results in which to publish the results of hard
research that did not reject the null hypothesis. Much of my own research
indeed fits into that category, which I happily publish so that beekeepers
don't waste their time or money.
