Not completely, there are ample opportunities for bees to benefit - even here in Kansas.
Within flight range is soy, which does provide nectar in many varieties, a plethora of clover including yellow sweet clover, as well as Alfalfa which occasionally is allowed to flower and go to seed.
Wheat and corn are a desert of course, but I have been pleasantly surprised at the flow so far.
