While listening to a talk by Dr. Kaira Wagoner yesterday, she mentioned a
European initiative to have broad varroa resistance by 2033:

It appears the main focus is resistance breeding with VSH as the main
mechanism to be selected for.

 

Looks to be a lot of serious bee breeders and researchers affiliated with
this effort.

 

Have any of our readers in Europe been following / participating in this
program? 

 

If so, are there any early feedback to report beyond what is already
published?
