In the early 2000th I did experiments with countings of falling varroas with different experimental conditions on 20 colonies. On the good colonies, In august (East of France, 350m hight, temperate climate) I had in general about 1000 varroa falling "every week" from mid july to end of august on my sticky boards. I treated at this time at the beginning of september and most of these colonies survived to winter and were nice in the spring period.
Today I am not sure that such colonies could survive wintering period.
