I've never requeened with the modern variation of the snelgrove board,
but I have found it extremely useful tool in manipulating a cell
builder colony, which is a process but
allows the cell builder, once built, to be self sustainable week after
week.
There are those in warmer climates that use the double screen board to
winter weak colonies over the top of strong colonies, but up here in the
North colder winters I found that all
it did was weaken the strong colony. (the weaker queen should have been
sacrificed and her bees combined with a stronger colony).
