is important for maintaining winter cluster strength.
The post by PB about the long-term survival of the workers in the queenless
colony, is supportive evidence that unless workers in the diutinus state
are "pushed off" the combs by replacement younger bees, that they remain in
survival physiology for a long time by minimizing flight.
