Folks I don't know where you have all been over the last five years, but a temperature controlled vaporizer has been available starting at around $140 then to $175 now. The nozzle can be inserted into a 7/32" hole after 2 minutes heating time and thereafter the legal 2 gram dose cane be administered in 30 seconds. With a fully closed hive this vaporizer can be left hanging in the hole while the beekeeper can be elswhere preparing other hives for treatment. And for the folks that feel they need protection an N95 mask is quite sufficient to prevent the accidental inhalation of oxalic acid micro particles. There is no acid gas, only suspended particles in the air. Now I do not have a bears, but have been using OAV exclusively for mite control over the past I guess 8 or 9 years now and rarely even use the N95 mask unless it is to treat and inside observation hive in an enclosed space. And yes I am still healthy at close to 80 years old. And I have mentioned this before my overwinter losses have never exceeded 10% of my colonies and furthermore those losses have come mostly from starvation and queen failures.
